Screamin’ Mimis

If you’ve ever read a book in the Judy Moody series, then you might have heard of Screamin’ Mimi’s. The author, Megan McDonald, lives in Sepastopol, California and incorporated her favorite ice cream shop into this iconic series. I grew up loving the Judy Moody books and always enjoyed going to Scremin’ Mimi’s, sitting at the iconic “Judy Moody” table, and enjoying a scoop of their most popular flavor: Mimi’s Mud.

Mimi’s Mud is the most classic flavor in the shop – and one of the best IMO. It’s an espresso ice cream with chocolate chips, chocolate cookies, and homemade fudge. I know it sounds like a lot, and it is, but the combination of textures and flavors is unmatched. I would argue that this flavor may have fueled my addiction for coffee ice cream.

The homemade fudge is honestly the best part of this ice cream. It’s soft and chewy and tastes almost like a fresh-out-of-the-oven brownie. I would never go to Screamin’ Mimi’s without ordering a scoop of Mimi’s Mud.
